Fantastic Finds Auction Item Spotlight #2: Vintage Napier Bracelet Earrings Set

Item #2 in our Fantastic Finds Auction preview is a lovely Vintage Napier Purple Clip Earrings and Bracelet set.

This impressive Napier jewelry set includes a studded steel link bracelet with large purple glass rhinestones, and matching clip earrings.  Napier made this set in the 1950-60s, and though it is an estate piece, it is in excellent condition, showing only slight tarnishing that does not detract from the brilliance of the piece. 

A noteable facet of this particular Napier sets is its creative use of metalwork.  The steel studded metalwork Napier utilizes in these pieces are actually inspired by those seen on Victorian steel studded shoeclips so popular in 1800s-early 1900s.  Compare the studded metalwork on the Napier pieces (left, below) with the studded steel metalwork on a genuine Victorian piece (photo on the right.)Compare the studded metalwork on the Napier earrings and bracelet to this pair of Victorian shoe clips (*NOT INCLUDED IN SALE*)Steel bracelet and clip earrings by Napier
