Clone Cleopatra This Halloween: Big Gold Jewelry

Cleopatra was a strong historical figure whose fashion sense has endured for over 2,000 years.  She adorned herself heavily as a symbol of her regal status.  Besides the sterotypical gold and white togas, she was known for her striking accessories.  So this Halloween, get your "50 B.C." look on with big gold jewelry.

Emulate royalty with a gold fringe necklace, à la Elizabeth Taylor in her Cleopatra biopic.  And don't forget the heavy eyeliner-- Egyptians wore it because they believed it would ward off evil spirits, and that it would make good spirits find them easier.  Some say it was also used to block out the sun.  Plus it looks hot!

Combine beauty and power with a regal metal collar choker necklace.  These styles are classic, but with a modern flair, perfect to accent your costume.  For Halloween, it's all about combining as many accessories as possible to really let your inner Egyptian queen shine!  When it comes to Cleopatra, subtlety was certainly not an issue.  Go along with the ornate styles of her ancient times while you're trick-or-treating partying, and  pay tribute to the myth of Cleopatra.

A cuff bracelet is necessary as well to add to your look.  Cleopatra’s arms were laden with these armor-like adornments, and they are a great way to mimic her regal appearance.

Have fun this Halloween-- just remember to avoid any snakes!

Missed this last Halloween. These and other Wonder Woman bracelets are actually coming back in style. They'd be perfect for someone with long arms and a tall frame.
