Nautical Jewelry - Pure Americana

Nautical jewelry is making its annual summer comeback, just in time for 4th of July barbecues, beach parties, and islands in the sun.  This look combines a red, white, and blue color palette with the love of the seaside.  Metalwork anchors and rope-like textures also make an appearance.

Chunky chain necklaces with nautical themes offer a distinct take on the traditional nautical pendant.  Playful and bold, these necklaces enhance any simple summer ensemble.

The seaside theme continues with unique enamel nautical rope earrings.  Featuring gold rope-like accents, we are reminded of sailor's knots and hoisting the sails.  Bonus points for this pair's white color-- white is the hot shade this summer, crisp and bright as a sailor's uniform in the 1940s.

These re-interpretations are hot right now, but the more conservative lady might prefer the old-school elegance of generations past.  Picture the sort of necklace a World War II navy might have worn.  My grandmother is one such wife, still sporting a plain anchor pin every D-Day.  She'd love this traditional anchor pendant necklace-- delicate, but still expressive.

Perfect for a 4th of July barbecue, party on the sand, or even a formal beach wedding, nautical jewelry adds interest any sundress, beach cover up, or linen lounge pants on a lazy summer day.  Whether you spend the dog days yachting in the sun or cursing like a sailor in a bad storm, the nautical trend is a sure bet.
