Jewelry Jealousy
Women are accustomed to expecting jewelry on Valentine's Day (and a nice dinner and roses and candy and possibly that new car...) because we deserve it.
But what should you give your male counterpart in return? Find the right way to say "I love you" with the perfect manly accessory.
By Feb. 14th, the Superbowl will be over. Thank St. Valentine! If your Valentine screams louder while watching ESPN than he does in bed, he'll probably appreciate a collectible piece of jewelry featuring his favorite sports team. If he's a football fan, consider getting him an official NFL football ring or NFL football team watch. Or, with spring training around the corner (groan), an MLB baseball watch will allow him to wear his team spirit on his sleeve (er... wrist).
For the "high roller" CEO Valentine (or adorablly unorganized dude with a whole lotta $1 bills), be his saving grace this February by treating him to a tasteful Ultra Light M-Clip Money Clip. The M-Clip is a unique money clip with a patented design that holds cash and credit cards more securely than clips of the past. This item is hot right now, available in multiple materials and metals (seen here in light gray and steel).
Stylish men's stainless steel and gold plated bracelet by Rochet. If your Valentine is metrosexual, God bless him-- he'll surely appreciate the thoughtful elegance of a designer Rochet bracelet or Rochet cufflinks set. These stainless steel beauties are a metrosexual's dream with their sleek, refined design and top quality scratch-resistant materials.
In the same vein, you may have the boyfriend or hubby with better fashion sense than you do (oh how I miss Clifford.... *sigh*), so surprise him with a smoothly hip set of groovy vintage cameo cufflinks, or perhaps a throwback vintage tie clip. We particularly adore this 1970s "LOVE" tie clasp for the season.
Another perfect gift for that seriously unique guy is a vintage cufflinks and tie bar set, like those from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s.
Love in itself is celebrated on this holiday, whether it's romantic love, friendly love, or the deep loving bond of family. And when you think about it, there's no man a girl can trust more than her daddy. (Okay so I stole that line from Grease, but it's true!). If your father has an affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, Masons, Elks, or other fraternal organization, consider the gift of a Fraternal Men's Ring. Available as well, Military rings including Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines men's rings make meaningful gifts for Veterans.
Among all these ideas, your present can be as simple and practical as Watch chains or watch bands to make a memorable V-day he won't forget.
The possibilities are enormous, so be creative this Valentine's Day. Any man worth his salt will treat you like gold on February 14th. Or if he's like my ex-boyfriend Clifford, he will forget about the holiday entirely, but make up for it by taking you to a Fire Sale at American Apparel on the 15th, insisting that you that you look awesome in jeggings. He will be lying.
